How a cost reduction project works
You send a drawing or STEP file and the current price. From there the work is structured and fast:
- Send the files. A 2D drawing, STEP or DXF, plus annual volume and what the part currently costs you.
- Cost teardown. I break the price into material, processing and overhead so we can see exactly where the euros sit.
- Options with numbers. Concrete design, material and process alternatives, each with the expected saving and any trade-off.
- Validation. We confirm that function, strength and fit are untouched before anything changes on the shop floor.
- Implementation support. Updated drawings and notes your supplier can quote against straight away.
Where the savings really come from
After fifteen years on the shop floor building steel components, I have learned that the expensive part is almost never expensive because of the machine. The cost is hidden in the design, the material and the process.
